Whether you are buying your first Manhattan condo, selling a co-op, or investing in New York City real estate, working with a Korean-speaking agent makes all the difference. At Most NYC Realty, our bilingual REBNY-licensed agents serve Korean and English-speaking clients across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens — guiding you through every step with clarity, cultural understanding, and local expertise.
New York City’s real estate market is one of the most complex in the world. Legal documents, board applications, contract negotiations, and closing procedures all require precise communication. A single misunderstanding can cost thousands of dollars or delay a deal by weeks.
For Korean-speaking buyers and sellers, working with an agent who understands both languages and both cultures eliminates that risk entirely. You can ask questions in Korean, review key terms in English, and make confident decisions without relying on a third-party translator who does not understand real estate.
Our agents are fluent in Korean and English and have deep knowledge of what Korean-American clients specifically need when navigating the NYC market. 한국어로 편안하게 상담하세요.
If you are coming from Korea or have experience with the Korean property market, New York City operates very differently. Here are the key differences to understand before you buy:
There is no jeonse system in NYC. Korea’s jeonse model — where a tenant pays a large lump-sum deposit and lives rent-free — does not exist in the United States. In NYC, rentals require monthly payments, and purchases require a down payment plus closing costs. Our agents help Korean buyers transition smoothly from one system to the other.
Co-ops require board approval. Unlike condos, co-op apartments require you to be approved by a building’s board of directors. This process involves submitting a detailed board package — including financial statements, personal references, and an interview. Many Korean buyers are surprised by this process. Our agents prepare you fully and guide you through every requirement.
Condos offer more flexibility. Condo ownership in NYC gives you full title to your unit, more flexible subletting rules, and no board approval process. For international buyers and investors, condos are generally the preferred option. We help you evaluate whether a condo or co-op is the right fit for your financial situation and lifestyle.
Closing costs are significant. Expect to pay 2–6% of the purchase price in closing costs. For purchases over $1 million, the New York mansion tax applies. Our agents provide a full cost breakdown before you make any offer so there are no surprises at closing.
